The introductory course called “Einführungswoche” is a compact, informative event which has a variety of information to offer on preparing for writing the dissertation. The event covers particular methods and standards of scientific writing as well as other relevant aspects related to the process of writing a thesis. The programme of this introductory course is rounded off by guest lectures and a panel discussion with former doctoral candidates reporting on their experiences made during the time of writing their theses. Furthermore this three day course gives its participants the opportunity to get the information they need for starting their doctoral degree successfully as well as the chance to share knowledge and network with other doctoral candidates.
The introductory course is open to all doctoral candidates at the Faculty of Law. Attendance is compulsory for all doctoral candidates who were accepted after 1 March 2014 in accordance with Section 3 (1) (1c) of the doctoral regulations. We strongly recommend to attend as early as possible at the beginning of the doctoral degree.
